EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
At what age should my daughter start ballet?
More and more parents choose the participation of their children in various activities such as dance, sports, music, swimming, etc. However, when it should start is a topic that needs a lot of discussion as many factors are related to it.
Firstly, the activity you choose should be something your daughter likes and has fun with. Activities at such young ages should be fun for children and not an obligation. In addition, you should remember:
1. the right time for your daughter to start ballet is related to whether she has developed the appropriate skills such as balance.
2. at a young age, children must be engaged in activities with an emphasis on their all-round development.
3. experts argue that activities with intense and regular physical exercise based on predetermined rules and movements should be avoided between the ages of 2 and 6 years.
4. participating in many activities tire children and burden their daily schedule.
5. children should be allowed to try different activities to find what suits them. Don't be disappointed if your daughter doesn't like ballet but give her a chance to try something else.
6. if your daughter is not interested in an activity don't push her. Try to spend quality time with her, playing on the playground, drawing, etc. When she wants to go to an activity you will know.
No doubt the benefits of participating in an activity are many, however for preschool children this activity should be connected to joy and fun.
